Nationwide Protest Scheduled for August 1-10, 2024
A nationwide protest titled “END BAD GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA 2024” is scheduled to take place from August 1st to August 10th, 2024.
The protest, organized under the banner “10 Days of Rage,” aims to address multiple grievances against the current government.
This movement is expected to be peaceful, & widespread, involving significant participation from various regions, tribes, and religious groups across the country.
Protest Details:
The protest will run for ten days, from August 1st to August 10th, 2024.
Its main slogan, “WE ARE NOT SLAVES,” emphasizes the protesters resolve.
The scope of the protest is nationwide, with major activities planned in key cities including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kaduna.
These are the outlined primary demands:
-Ending subsidy scams and reducing fuel prices to below ₦300 per liter
-Reverting tertiary education fees to previous rates by reversing subsidies
-Restoring affordable electricity tariffs
-Reinstating previous import duty rates
-Publicly disclosing and reducing the salaries and allowances of all senators
-House of Representatives members, and the Speaker
We also demand the establishment of an emergency fund to support SMEs, reopening national borders, reforming the EFCC, declaring a state of emergency on inflation, and reforming the judiciary.
Mobilization and Logistics:
-Protesters are advised to wear white (with black) attire.
They are also encouraged to bring placards, handkerchiefs, a bottle of water, a white cloth or ribbon, and the Nigerian flag.

Dear READER, Regardless of our tribe, religion, or region, we are all united in our desire for a better Nigeria. But today, our country faces unprecedented challenges – insecurity, hunger, and inflation have become the harsh realities of our daily lives.
As someone from the Northwest, I have seen firsthand the devastating effects of banditry and insurgency. Our villages have been raided, our people killed, and our children displaced.
But I know that we are not alone in this struggle. From the East to the West, from the North to the South, every Nigerian is suffering. Every Nigerian is crying out for change.
That’s why I’m calling on all of us to come out and protest. Let us put aside our differences and unite in our demand for a better Nigeria. Let us show our leaders that we will no longer tolerate the status quo.
Let us march together, Christians and Muslims, Hausas and Yorubas, Igbos and Fulanis. Let us march together, as one people, with one voice, demanding a safer, more prosperous Nigeria for all.
