A wife to the former Oyo State Governor and the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, is dead.
Tinuade Ladoja passed away on Monday morning at 71 after a brief illness.
Media aide to Ladoja, Adeola Oloko, confirmed her transition.
Oloko said: “Yes, it is confirmed. She is dead. May God repose her soul.”
The former Oyo First Lady was a member of the Pastor-in-Council of the Celestial Church of Christ, the highest decision-making body of the denomination.
According to a Facebook post of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Ikeja Parish 1 Cathedral, the parish she attended before her death, Mrs. Ladoja died some days after being admitted into hospital for an undisclosed illness.
The Facebook post said: “It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
“We submit to his will #farewell.”
Head of the Media unit of the parish, Olukoya Benjamin, said: “Two days ago, she had some feelings and was taken to hospital, they said she still ate yesterday before she gave up the ghost earlier this morning.
“She was a strong member of the women in council. She was appreciated with an award recently at their 40th anniversary.”
