Go To Hell! Nigeria’s Security Adviser Blasts Canada

Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has blasted the Canadian government for denying visas to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, and Nigerian top military officers.

General Musa triggered off Ribadu’s anger by publicly disclosing that applications for visas to enable Generals attend an official event slated for Canada yesterday were denied by that country’s Abuja embassy.

Musa broke the ungracious news on Thursday at the maiden annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja.

“Every disappointment is a blessing. Yesterday, I was meant to be in Canada. There’s an event to honour our veterans, those that were injured during battles, and we were meant to be there,” the CDS had said.

When it was his turn to speak, Ribadu slammed the Canadian government.

Ribadu said: “Thank you for the courage to say Canada denied you visas. They can go to hell.

“Even though it’s painful, it’s disrespectful, but we are peaceful and strong, and I agree with you that it is time to fix our country. Yet, this is another reason we work hard to make Nigeria work.”
