Unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have gunned down a Catholic Priest in cold blood in Benue State.
An indigenous Catholic Priest of Tyoshin and serving Priest for Saint Theresa’s Catholic Parish Jimba, Rev. Fr. Solomon Atongu was shot and killed at a spot along Makurdi-Naka road on Sunday.
He was killed while returning to his duty station.
According to reports, Atongu was in the company of two unnamed passengers in his car, when they were attacked.
After shooting and ensuring they have killed him, the suspected herdsmen abducted the remaining persons to an unknown destination.
As at the time of this report, the news about their whereabouts is yet heard.
