Dismisses Coalition Threat And Urging Northerners To Support Tinubu
Honourable Dr. Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, former lawmaker representing Oshodi/ Isolo Constituency 02 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, says President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will not rest until he achieves success for Nigerians.
He also maintained that the much touted coalition being geared towards ousting the President through the polls in 2027, is dead on arrival, even as he urged the northerners to support the President’s bid for another tenure.
Idimogu spoke in an interaction with journalists on Friday, June 6, 2025.
He said, “As to the coalition of other political parties coming to challenge Mr President in 2027, I find it very difficult to believe that they can achieve that. You see our President has been a strategist in the sense that even before he climbed to that position as President, Asiwaju is somebody who is known as being politically ahead of many Nigerians. When you talk about politics in Nigeria, he is number one. He is someone who has always planned his political dream successfully
“Don’t forget before now, the President was a kingmaker, he has always been a kingmaker, but today he is a king,” he stated.
The politician said with Tinubu’s knowledge in politics and God being on his side, the coalition is a nullity.
He said even as members of the coalition are gathering, people from other political parties are also joining APC.
Idimogu said: “I believe with his knowledge and God being on his side, it will be difficult for the coalition to remove him.
“But even at that, from information I have gathered politicians from the opposition have been joining the ruling party, I am sure Asiwaju will not rest until he achieves success for Nigeria.
“He will not rest until he achieves his aim which is completing his term for eight years.”
Advising the President, he said: “Mr President, it has always been your wish to be President of the nation, and God granted it to you. I remembered in your speech, you said your dream is to be the President of Nigeria, and you worked hard and with the support of others, with God’s blessings, you are there today. What I believe is put in your very best for the interest of Nigerians, and the economy should be taken care of. I know it is not easy, out of four years, you have done just two years, you have another two years to complete your first term, God willing, returning 2027 I know you will continue to do your best, especially to put food on the table of nigerians and also to take Nigeria to a greater height,” he said.
He appealed to the President to constantly beam his searchlight on his ministers and political appointees because in the end he is the person Nigerians know: “For me I will advise you to continue doing what you are doing and look at your political appointees, ministers, try and ensure you monitor their activities, so that they will not give you a bad name, because you alone cannot do everything.”
He advised Nigerians especially Northerners to support Tinubu for the second term.
The Lagos politician said: “I want to appeal to Nigerians especially northerners, they should please wait for their own turn, they have done eight years through Muhammad Buhari, this is an opportunity for the Southerners to also do eight years. And today, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the current President is representing the South.
“The South must do eight years, they must do eight years, all we need them to do especially the Northerners is, give Bola Ahmed Tinubu, your support, whatever you are trying to do is not helping us, it is distraction, because after his 8 years power will automatically go to North, then you can choose whomever you want to choose, zone it to whoever area you want to zone it in the North, and now it is yours, but for now, give peace a chance by allowing Tinubu to finish his eight years, though you can always criticise him constructively, if you think he is not doing well in certain areas, give him better suggestion for him to take and move the nation forward.”
