Says President has shown he is human, a leader and God-fearing
Hon Sir Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, former lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 02, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for forgiving his political Godson, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He said for doing what he did, the president has not only demonstrated that he is human, but a Leader and God fearing man.
Hon Idimogu made the commendation while speaking to the Media.
He said “I want to specially commend and thank our leader, the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, number 1, the Jagaban himself.
“For him to have shown that he is a father, irrespective of whatever that might have gone wrong, I was not privileged to know, whatever that happened between him and the number one citizen of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Samwo-Olu, I don’t know but rumour had it that they had issues, but Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has shown, as a leader, he is human and at the same time, a God fearing leader, who used the opportunity of Salah that have just gone, a time of reconciliation, a time for forgiveness and moving forward, to have used that opportunity to forgive the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Samwo-Olu, and let whatever that must have happened, let by-gone be by-gone, let them move forward,” he said.
The lawmaker also opined that both Governor Samwo-Olu and the President have have barely two more years to go and need to move forward.
“Babajide Sanwo-Olu still has two years to do, Asiwaju also has two more years to go, to complete his first term, I believe, by the grace of God almighty, he will go back for second term, no matter what the enemies, whatever what the coalition are doing. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by His grace, I know, God wants him to finish second term, he will finish and finish for the interest of all Nigerians, all I pray is for all Nigerians to support him.
“And God will strengthen him and give him long life, he will give him wisdom to paddle the canoe that God has given him.
“Remember he was once a kingmaker, now he is a king, so give him that due respect. Like I said before, it is southerners’ turn, North should please, give him that support, let him finish his two terms, then, I believe Asiwaju Bola Ahmed will turnaround and support whoever the northerners bring,” Hon Idimogu appealed.
He also expressed great thanks to Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for being humble before Mr President, adding that Sanwo-Olu is a man of humility and intelligence. “Coming to the issue of Lagos State, I want to thank Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for him to have also, you see, two wrongs do not make a right, Sanwo-Olu has always, for me, is soft spoken, intelligent, quiet, I give it to him, he has done well, I give him 80% and Sanwo-Olu has the fear of God,” he said.
He said let by-gone be by-gone as he maintained that Sanwo-Olu couldn’t have committed the said offence against the president, deliberately and called for the sustenance of the reconciliation, “And whatever offence he might have committed against the president, I don’t believe that it was deliberate. You know we are all human beings, sometimes we don’t know when we offend people, but as a good person, when you get to know, you will apologize. I know he must have apologized to Mr President, whatever the issue was.”
He expressed great appreciation to the Governance Advisory Council of Lagos for their intervention and reconciliation of both leaders. “I really want to thank the ruling Governance Advisory Council (GAC) of Lagos State, and their Leader, for stepping in. That Baba, he looks quiet but I think he is full of wisdom. He is always finding solutions to problems. May God bless him, may God see him through, may God continue to imbue him with leadership quality, and that is why whatever people say, Lagos is Lagos, the Centre of Excellence, that is Lagos.
“Lagos, yes, challenges may come, normal, life is all about challenges, sometimes there may be difficulties, but at the end of the day, Government in Lagos always resolve internally these problems,” Idimogu added.
At the same time he commended the governor for being humble to the president, “So I want to thank for the president for welcoming back his political Godson, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, and also thank Mr Governor for being humble before the president, you have to be humble before the number one citizen of the country. I know you are the number one citizen in Lagos, no doubt about that, so I want to wish you well.”
Idimogu prayed for peace in Lagos State. “I also pray against whatever that might have caused this disharmony and you will finish your term in good time and with a lot of achievements.
“I know you are the people’s governor, you have been doing your best and I think your best is good enough for majority of Lagosians including myself, so I want to commend you and also to pray for you that the remaining term you have, you will use it well, you will be strong, you will be blessed, you will have strength and wisdom to paddle this canoe, this boat of Lagos State God has given to you, and the people have given to you.
“Don’t forget the people, and I believe, you are always humble before the president, and I know that the president will also give you your due respect as a governor of Lagos State.
“So I thank both of you, thank you for showing example, especially Mr President, to other Leader, other governors.
“The truth is that we are all human beings, one time or the other, we might offend one another, that is life, nobody is perfect but the most important thing is when you recognize that you have offended A or B, have you approached for reconciliation and pardon, even when we offend God, you cannot relax and say it doesn’t matter, you must ask for forgiveness and the father, God almighty will always forgive, I give you another chance, many many times, so Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, my number one president of this great country in Africa, Nigeria, thanks you.
“May this your good example show the light to others in leadership position in Lagos State even in Nigeria, to know that to err is human but to forgive is divine. Thank you Mr President, thank you Mr Governor, all the leadership of Lagos, from party leaders, GAC, and all stakeholders, involved in this reconciliation, I am happy you put Lagos first, Lagos is number one, and other things can follow,” Hon Idimogu stated.
May God bless Lagos State, May God bless Lagosians, may God bless Nigeria.
