Afrobeats singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has reportedly passed away.
He was reportedly aged 22.
The news of his alleged death surfaced on Sunday, January 18, 2025, after popular Instagram investigative journalist Temilola Sobola shared a post announcing the singer’s demise. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
“Singer Destiny Boy has passed away. May his soul rest in peace 🕊️,” Sobola wrote.
Neither his family nor management has said anything about the cause of his death.
Destiny Boy rose to prominence at a young age for his unique sound and street-inspired melodies, earning a strong fanbase within Nigeria’s Afrobeats scene.
In November 2024, the singer made headlines after welcoming his first child, while earlier in March 2024, he reportedly proposed to his partner with a diamond ring said to be worth millions of naira.
The reported sudden passing of the fast-rising artiste has left fans and colleagues in shock, with many taking to social media to express grief and share tributes in his memory.
