Man Sentenced To Sweep Mosque For 1 Month Over N2m Electric Cable Theft

A magistrate court in Abuja has ordered a businessman Musa Ibrahim to sweep the Amir Mosque premises in Wuse 2 for a month for stealing electric cables.

Magistrate Lami Sani sentenced Ibrahim after he pleaded guilty to theft.

Before sentencing, Ibrahim begged for leniency.

On March 5, Musa entered the mosque under the pretext of joining others to collect Ramadan food to remove the mosque ‘s electric cables.

The cables are valued at 2 million but the judge asked him to sweep the mosque for one month.
