The Last Words That Plateau Palm Sunday’s Terrorists Attack Victim Makburi Spoke To A Friend
Yesterday evening, I was asleep when I suddenly heard people running outside. I rushed out to see what was going on, and the next thing I saw was chaos — hundreds of people, keke, and cars speeding through our street. Our street links Tina to Fudawa/Etobaba and Angwan Rukuba, so everywhere was in panic.
I asked what was happening, and someone told me that unknown günmen were shōoting people at Angwan Rukuba 😳💔
Almost immediately, my sister called me, telling me to stay indoors. But I still insisted on going to the junction to confirm things for myself.
When I got to the hospital on my street, what I saw broke me 💔 Cars kept rushing in, bringing injured people — some barely alive, some unconscious. But the hospital refused to admit them 😢 The drivers didn’t want to continue to JUTH because they had no fuel, and at that time, there was little to no chance of finding an open filling station ⛽
There were at least six victims there, including a pregnant woman who was already halfway gone 💔😭 Then another car came with two more people. The person in front was someone I knew — a man from Fudawa, where I grew up.
I quickly called my family and told them to reach his people so we could find a car and move him to JUTH 🚗 But all efforts failed for about 30 minutes… until one man with a Sharon vehicle finally stepped up to help 🙏
As we were loading the victims into the car — some unconscious, some still talking — I saw a familiar face again…
It was Makburi.
My friend 💔
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I called his name, “Makburi…”
And he answered, “Guy, how far now…” 😢
I replied, “Sorry, bro… Jesus…” 💔
Moments later, the car left, and I started trying to reach his family and close friends 📞
We eventually spoke to his brother and others…
But about an hour later, one of his close friends texted me that Makburi was gone 💔
I couldn’t believe it, because he was literally talking to me not long before… 😭
Then he sent me a picture of Makburi lying lifeless in JUTH…
Nigeria happened to Makburi yesterday… and to many others 💔🇳🇬
We really need to wake up, bro…
RIP 🪦 Makburi 💔
