Church Cancels Wedding Day Before Over Genotype AS-AS Discovery… I Wept As Couple’s Alaga
My worst day as an alaga was the day a wedding was cancelled on the morning of the wedding.
We were already in the hall, decorators were almost done. It was a beautiful work. The caterers where wrapping up. The ring bearer was dressed sef. Because they were to go to church after engagement.
I was waiting patiently thinking it was our normal African time. It was already past 10am for an event that was to start by 8am. Some guests had arrived.
Around 11am. The news was broken to me by the bride’s sister. It was too hard to be a prank na. Few mins later, i saw my bride undressed and i wept with her. We hugged for about 5mins crying. I prayed with her and stayed around for a while before leaving with my team.
She wailed when she saw the beautiful hall.
I couldn’t sleep that night. I kept praying for the bride in my spirit because if i couldn’t sleep, what about her?
Why? You would ask.
I am sharing this to educate our couples to be.
Do all medicals before going deep into the courtship before you get into each other so much.
Thank God for the church that insisted they saw their medical reports a day to the wedding. The tried is on the saturday morning at another lab but it was the same.
Yes, they ought to have done it before then but they were not just available.
I wont blame the couple that much. I got married in 2018 and i did the 3 recognised weddings in Nigeria but we didn’t present any medical report.
My husband just told me he was AA and that was it. We didn’t confirm not even our Rhesus factors were checked. We just wanted to marry. We were just fortunate that we are compatible.
Its good to trust our spouses but lets confirm all medical compatibilities before going deep.
This happened last year. I can only share this now because we are doing well in the LORD and she is even grateful that God showed her minute mercy.
She told me she felt something comforting when i hugged her that day and said she would still choose me when the time comes.
I wish we can always ask our couples but i hope it wont be like wetin concern alaga.
