Ademola Lookman Injured In Atlético Madrid Vs Real Sociedad
Atlético Madrid have confirmed that Nigerian international player Ademola Lookman will be sidelined with an injury.
Lookman sustained the injury during Atlético’s Copa del Rey final defeat to Real Sociedad on Sunday night, April 19.
The 28-year-old opened the scoring for the Colchoneros but was substituted shortly after the hour mark, with Nicolás González coming on in his place.
The club did not disclose the exact nature of the injury.
In a statement, Atlético said Lookman and Alexander Sørloth both finished the match with discomfort.
The statement added that medical tests have advised caution to avoid further injury, and both players will follow individual training programs away from the main squad. Their return will depend on how their conditions improve in the coming days.
The Nigeria international joined Atlético Madrid from Atalanta in January and has recorded seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
