Arise TV’s Rufai Oseni Rubbishes Endorsements Given Hamzat For Lagos Gov Without Tinubu’s Say-So
Arise TV presenter, Rufai Oseni, has queried several public endorsements of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the preferred candidate for the 2027 Lagos governorship race in the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Those who have endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat have included the Governing Advisory Council, Speaker Musiliu Oba and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
However, reacting to the endorsement, Rufai Oseni said he believes the final political decision may depend on President Bola Tinubu’s position, suggesting that endorsements within Lagos APC may carry limited weight without his backing.
“I’d like to know where President Tinubu stands, until he gives Hamzat the nod, I can’t take any endorsement seriously.”
Sanwo-Olu had Monday praised Hamzat during a meeting at Lagos House, Marina, describing him as competent, loyal, and prepared to lead Lagos after his tenure.
“Mr Deputy Governor is a man who is fit and well-prepared for this job. He is a man who knows where all the rooms in the house are.”
He also added: “He is a man who has worked with me at the highest level of integrity, loyalty, commitment, support.”
