Police Kill 4 Kidnappers in Lagos After Failed Attempt To Abduct Businessman By One Ifeanyi-Led Gang
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command say they successfully thwarted a daring abduction attempt on a prominent businessman in the Ejigbo area, gunning down four suspected kidnappers in a fierce shootout.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, May 24, 2026, near the Jakande Estate Gate in Ejigbo, after the Command’s Special Squad received credible intelligence on the planned operation.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh Tijani, confirmed that the syndicate, led by notorious kidnapper Ifeanyi, popularly known as “Ifeko”, had specifically targeted a wealthy businessman for abduction.
The gang, which specialises in high-profile kidnappings, had reportedly entered Lagos to carry out the operation.
Ifeko, believed to have been coordinating criminal activities from abroad, has been linked to several previous abduction cases in the state.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, police operatives stormed the scene and intercepted the suspects, leading to a gun battle that left four members of the gang dead.
