Vitafoam’s N21.2bn Profit, Innovation Earn Top 50 Impact Recognition

Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has been named among Nigeria’s Top 50 Companies of Impact 2026, in recognition of its contribution to industrial development through local manufacturing, innovation, job creation, sustainability and regional expansion.

The Group Managing Director of Vitafoam, Taiwo Adeniyi, who was represented by the company’s Brand Manager, Chima Onyemaobi, said the recognition underscored the critical role of manufacturing in driving sustainable economic growth.

According to him, the award reflects Vitafoam’s ability to create jobs, deepen local value chains, support innovation and improve quality of life through locally manufactured products.

The recognition comes on the heels of a strong financial performance by the company, which recorded a 1,751 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to N21.2 billion in 2025. Adeniyi attributed the performance to strategic discipline, improved operational efficiency, cost management, portfolio diversification, stronger pricing and supply-chain optimisation.

He said Vitafoam had successfully transformed from a traditional mattress manufacturer into a diversified comfort-solutions provider through businesses such as Vitapur, Vitavisco and Vitablom, supported by investments in research, technology and product innovation.

“ Vitafoam has evolved from a traditional mattress manufacturer into a diversified sleep solutions provider by continuously investing in people, R&D, technology and product innovation,” he said.

The company’s commitment to quality has also been strengthened by its certification history, having been the first foam manufacturer in Nigeria to achieve NIS ISO 9002, and maintaining ISO 9001:2015.

Adeniyi said adherence to global quality standards had strengthened customer confidence, improved operational efficiency and enhanced Vitafoam’s competitiveness in regional and international markets.

On sustainability, he cited the launch of an ozone-friendly polyurethane system house through Vitapur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and UNDP, as evidence of the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing.

He added that Vitafoam was investing in sustainable energy, energy efficiency, waste management and other initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and improving operational resilience.
With nearly 1,000 direct employees and a broad distributor network, Adeniyi said Vitafoam was also creating economic opportunities for suppliers, retailers, transporters and SMEs across the country.

The company currently exports to Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, with its Sierra Leone factory supporting its strategy to deepen regional trade and expand its footprint across West Africa.
Adeniyi said Vitafoam was responding to Nigeria’s manufacturing challenges, including foreign-exchange volatility, rising raw-material and energy costs, logistics constraints and infrastructure deficits, through strategic sourcing, supply-chain optimisation, cost management and technology investments.

He described the Top 50 Companies of Impact recognition as “a strong affirmation” of Vitafoam’s contribution to Nigeria’s industrial development and a motivation to do more.
He said the company would continue to invest in technology, local manufacturing, people and environmentally responsible comfort solutions while expanding its regional footprint.

“ Our vision is to build a more resilient, competitive and sustainable manufacturing business that creates lasting value for consumers, communities and the Nigerian economy,” he said.
