Rescue Abducted NYSC Members Alive; Nigerians Deserve Security Not Terror; ADC’s Owokoniran Tells Tinubu

Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the South-West, has called on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu government to take immediate and decisive action to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

He described the incident as another painful reminder of the security challenges confronting Nigeria and stressed that the immediate priority must be to bring all abducted corps members home alive and reunite them with their families.

Owokoniran said: “These are young Nigerians whose only intention was to serve their country. They should not have to face the danger of kidnapping simply because they are travelling to fulfil their national service obligation.

“The Federal Government must act urgently, deploy every necessary security resource and ensure that these young people are rescued alive.

“Nigerians are tired of fear, insecurity and the constant anxiety over the safety of their loved ones. We need a government that will make the protection of lives, economic wellbeing and welfare of citizens a genuine priority.’

He said the Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi ticket represented the alternative being presented by ADC for Nigerians to consider ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly on issues of security, economic opportunity and citizens welfare.

Owokoniran submitted: “Nigeria deserves leadership where the safety, dignity and welfare of every Nigerian come first.

“The time has come for Nigerians to demand clear, practical and measurable solutions.

“The Nigeria we desire is possible with Atiku and Amaechi.”
