Strange Mystery Of The 2 Mariamas My Father Married
My dad was married to two women, both named Mariam. To distinguish between them, one was affectionately called Mariama Senior (my biological mother), while the other was known as Mariama Junior.
What makes their story even more extraordinary is the series of similarities that connected their lives. They both had the same number of children with my dad, and interestingly, they had children of the same sexes. Whenever Mariama Senior gave birth to a baby boy, Mariama Junior would also give birth to a baby boy just two or three months later. The same pattern continued throughout their motherhood journey.
After my dad passed away, both women remarried different men and each had another son. Unfortunately, those marriages also ended in divorce, and they later remarried again.
In another remarkable coincidence, they both performed Hajj in the same year. And perhaps the most heartbreaking part of their story is that they both passed away in the same month, just a day apart. Mariama Senior passed away on 2nd November 2026, while Mariama Junior followed on 3rd November 2026.
Even in death, their journey remained connected. Today, they are both laid to rest in the same cemetery, at the very same spot.
What a remarkable story of two women whose lives were intertwined in so many ways. From marriage and motherhood to Hajj and finally, their final resting place.
May Allah forgive their shortcomings, illuminate their graves, grant them Jannatul Firdaus, and reunite us all in Al-Jannah.
You will forever remain in our hearts, Mums. Your memories will never fade.
Rest peacefully, our beloved mothers. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
