Super Eagles squad threaten to boycott training and delay trip to Marrakech for AFCON quarter final against Algeria until NFF settles outstanding bonuses Nigeria’s Super Eagles have reportedly threatened to boycott training and delay their trip to Marrakech for their crucial AFCON 2025 quarter-final showdown against Algeria unless the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) promptly settles all outstanding winning bonuses from the tournament.

The three-time African champions, who cruised into the last eight with an emphatic 4–0 win in the round-of-16 win over Mozambique, are said to be demanding payment of agreed incentives covering both the group stage and knockout rounds.

The bonuses reportedly remain unpaid despite funding support from the government.

Renowned Nigerian journalist Oluwashina Okeleji disclosed that the NFF has yet to pay players and officials their win bonuses from all four matches played so far in Morocco.

While the team is scheduled to travel to Marrakech on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final clash with Algeria, reports indicate the squad plans to stay back in Fez and boycott training if their demands are not met.
