In a suspected assassination episode, armed men killed a 30-year-old Point of Sales operator, Aliyu Musa, in Minna, Niger State, even after he begged for his life and offered them money.
The hoodlums attacked Musa’s residence in the “T Mama” area of the state capital, on Monday, forcing their way into his residence to carry out their criminal act.
Sources said that in spite of the large sum of money offered the assailants by Aliyu Musa, they (assailants) rejected it, insisting that they were in his house to kill him.
The source said, “Musa was first stabbed in the stomach before being repeatedly attacked with a machete.”
The attackers could not be apprehended when neighbours rushed to rescue the victim when he cried out for help.
They took Musa to the Tudun-Wada Police Station to report the incident before taking him to the Minna General Hospital, where he died before receiving medical attention.
The deceased’s elder brother, Malam Ibrahim Kolo confirmed the incident, stating that the remains of the victim were buried at the Muslim burial ground at 10 a.m. on Monday.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident.
He assured that the police have launched a manhunt for the assailants.
