A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Otunba Adewale Badejo, has applauded Governor Dapo Abiodun, for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of key roads spread across the three senatorial districts to ease transportation and boost economic activities and the construction of the state – of – the – art Gateway International Airport.
Otunba Badejo, who spoke during a chat with newsmen at Odogbolu, Ogun State on Friday, expressed his appreciation to the Ogun State Governor for his unwavering support and commitment towards rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads in the state.
He particularly commended the State Governor for the successful completion of the 27 – Km Eruwon – Idowa – Awa – Ibefun – Itoikin road, Federal Government College Road and the 14 – Km Ijebu Ode – Mojoda Expressway in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state.
The APC Chieftain affirmed that Governor Abiodun, by this singular action, had renewed the hope of residents and commuters in the communities along the two major roads, who had virtually lost hope that the roads, which were in very deplorable conditions, will ever be repaired.
Otunba Badejo equally appreciated Governor Abiodun for embarking on the rehabilitation of several strategic routes, including federal roads that serve as vital links between Ogun and neighbouring states such as the 140 – Km Abeokuta – Lagos Expressway, which is under construction by the state government.
” The various rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts have, no doubt, eased the suffering of commuters and supported businesses operating along the roads”
He also gave kudos to the state government for the construction of the Gateway International Airport, which he described as not just a cargo airport, but a catalyst for the industrial revolution, job creation and investment inflow.
The community leader noted that the airport, will, no doubt, decongest Lagos airport and people living in Ogun, Epe, Lekki, and that even Ibadan and Osun will find it useful because of its proximity to the highway.
” What makes the cargo airport more economic viable is its location, which is along the Iperu – Ilishan axis near the Sagamu interchange and Lagos – Ibadan Expressway as it’s strategically located to serve commercial cargo and passenger operations, with direct implications to trade, investment and job creation”,
Otunba Badejo, who said that the various road projects and the cargo airport are positive pointers and attestations to the facts that many more developmental projects would be completed and delivered by the state government, however, remarked that the government deserves the goodwill and support of all Ogun State indigenes and inhabitants for more developmental projects.
The APC Chieftain, therefore, appealed to all well – meaning Ogun State indegenes to set aside their differences and join hands with the state government for the full realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the government.
