Bayelsa State’s Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has been confirmed dead after he slumped in his office earlier this Thursday afternoon, December 11.
Born September 5, 1965, Ewhrudjakpo was 60 years old.
He reportedly collapsed while in his office at about 1.30pm and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa where he has now been confirmed dead.
Apparently in serious condition at the time he collapsed, he was transported to the hospital’s emergency unit.
He was later confirmed dead.
Family sources confirmed that he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Security operatives have since taken control of the hospital premises, restricting access as top government officials file in to show solidarity.
His media aide, Doubara Atasi, remained incommunicado all day.
