He reportedly complained of feeling ill on Tuesday, following which he was admitted to a government hospital in Ado-Ekiti.

He died while on admission, receiving treatment at the health facility.

Omotosho was kidnapped late last July at the Agbado Ekiti axis after gunmen shot at the tyre of his car before dragging him and two others into a waiting Hilux van.

Omotosho was later reunited with his family after being rescued through the combined effort of the police and other security outfits.

The police said they also arrested three suspects over the incident.

In October 2021, Omotoso  emerged the Ekiti Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a State Congress.

He was the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in Ekiti before his emergence at the congress
