I, Prince Adelaju Olusegun Adenuga, am honored to present my candidacy for the revered throne of the Awujale of Ijebu Land. As a member of the esteemed Tunwase Royal lineage, I am committed to upholding the values and traditions of our great Kingdom while driving progress and development for the benefit of all Ijebu people.

Background and Lineage

Born into the Tunwase Royal family, I am the grandson of the illustrious Oba Theophilus Tunwase Adenuga, the last Awujale of the Tunwase Royal lineage. My heritage has instilled in me a deep understanding of Ijebu culture, tradition, and the responsibilities of royal leadership.

Education

My educational journey began at Ireti Primary School in Ikoyi, Lagos, and continued at K.Kotun Memorial School in Surulere, Lagos. I completed my secondary education at Birch Freeman High School in Surulere, Lagos, with good grades in WAEC O levels in 1980. I furthered my education in the United Kingdom, where I completed A levels in Pure and Applied Mathematics and Economics in 1983, BTEC OND in Building Studies at Waltham Forest College in 1985, and BTEC HND in Building Studies at Willesden College of Building and Technology in Neasden, NW London, in 1988.

Professional Career

With over 36 years of experience in the building management and construction industry, I have held various roles in local government and housing associations. My responsibilities have included:
– Building Control Officer
– Contract Surveyor
– Maintenance Surveyor
– Senior Surveyor
– Disrepair Surveyor

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in managing planned and responsive projects, conducting inspections, raising work orders, managing high-value projects, conflict resolution with tenants and clients, supervising and quality checking works for approval, and delivering projects on time and ensuring value for money.

Vision for Ijebu Land

As Ijebu Land embarks on a new era of statehood, I envision a future where our kingdom is prosperous, secure, and thriving. My vision includes:
– Promoting economic empowerment and self-sufficiency through agriculture, industry, and entrepreneurship
– Enhancing food security through sustainable farming practices and value-added food processing
– Developing our water resources to support industrial-scale fishing and seafood processing
– Showcasing Ijebu culture and traditions to the world through tourism and cultural exchange
– Ensuring the safety and security of all Ijebu people, particularly women and children

Personal Attributes and Qualities

As a prince, I have been taught the values of humility, empathy, and fairness. I am committed to listening to the voices of all Ijebu people and working tirelessly to address their concerns and aspirations.

Family Life

I am blessed with a loving family. I am married with 4 wonderful children, 2 boys and 2 girls, who bring immense joy and fulfillment to my life.

I believe that my leadership experience, vision, and commitment to the Ijebu people make me an ideal candidate for the royal stool of the Awujale of Ijebu Land.
