Ex-IGP Mike Okiro Laments Death Of Later Successor Solomon Arase

Sir Mike Okiro, former Inspector General of Police has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the passing of fellow former Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Ehigiator Arase.

In a statement released in Abuja, he condoled with the Nigeria government, the Nigerian Police, and the immediate family of the late police chief.

Sir Mike Okiro described Arase as a seasoned police officer and lawyer whose contribution to the Nigerian Police Force will always be remembered and cherished.

He highlighted Arase’s distinguished career, including serving as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and heading the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau.

The statement recognized Arase’s academic and professional credentials, as well as his international exposure through his service in Namibia with the United Nations Mission.

Sir Mike Okiro extended his deepest sympathies to the family of Solomon Arase, as well as to the entire Nigerian Police Force and the nation as a whole.

He noted that Arase’s legacy will continue to inspire current and future generations of police officers.

The funeral arrangements for the late Solomon Arase are yet to be announced, but Sir Mike Okiro pleaded with the Nigeria government to support and assist the family to honor his memory.

Okiro prayed: “May the soul of Solomon Arase rest in peace.”
