Ex-President Jonathan’s Elder Sister Is Dead

The death has been announced of Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, the elder sister of Nigeria’s former President Goodluck Ebele.

She died on Thursday, at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, after a brief illness, at the age of 70.

Apart from the former President, surviving the late businesswoman are her three children, siblings and her mother Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan.

Popularly called Amissi, Obebhatein was a retired teacher, businesswoman.

She was also a mother and grandmother, whom the family said lived a dedicated life of service to God and humanity.

Family said she would be buried on Tuesday 16th February, 2024.
