Jesus scored for the first time since January, in a match Arsenal thoroughly dominated.

Gabriel Jesus recreated Kaká’s iconic “I belong to Jesus” shirt celebration after scoring his first Arsenal goal since returning from injury.

With this win, Arsenal go five points clear off second-placed Manchester City with 45 points after 19 matches played.

Aston Villa stay in third place with 39 points, and are just a point behind Guardiola’s side.

The goal by Jesus began with a brilliant run down the left side from Trossard, who spotted Jesus on the right of him.

Jesus took a moment before getting a curled effort past his marker and into the right side of goal in the 78th minute.

The goal tally for the night went:

  • Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa (Gabriel 47)
  • Arsenal 2-0 Aston Villa (Zubimendi 52)
  • Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa (Trossard 69)
  • Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa (Jesus 78)
  • Arsenal 4-1 Aston Villa (Watkins 90+4)

Arsenal looked set to keep a clean sheet until the over 90-minute mark when Watkins buried the ball once and for all into goal to give the visiting Villa fans something to finally cheer about.

It was Villa’s first actual shot on target all match.
