A man has been killed by his suicidal neighbour after he tried to convince him not to take own life in the fishing community of Takinta in the Jomoro Municipality, Western Region, Ghana.
According to Daily Guide Network, the deceased, identified as Cosmos Ndah, was killed by his neighbour, Nya Meah (pictured) with a machete.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested.
Sources revealed that the suspect had told some people in the area that he wanted to commit suicide because he was fed up with life.
“So Meah went to his room and threatened that he was going to kill himself,” a resident narrated.
When the deceased heard what Meah wanted to do, he decided to go and talk to him to rescind his decision.
According to eyewitnesses, Cosmos Ndah then went to the suspect’s house to try to talk to him and calm him down.
“But in the process, a confrontation ensued and the situation turned bloody when Meah used a cutlass to butcher Cosmos to death,” an eyewitness narrated.
The police have since taken over the case, and investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
