Enugu State’s Governor Peter Mbah has awarded scholarships to the three children surviving the late popular Ogene musician, Okezie Mba, aka Igbo Jah, shot dead at the weekend by a police officer.
Also, the government said it would cater for the welfare of Igbo Jah’s widow.
Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, and her Culture and Tourism counterpart conveyed the message to the family on Monday.

The traditional Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba (a.k.a. Igbo-Jah) was shot dead by a policeman on Friday night.
Residents of Enugu, Enugu State, trooped out on Saturday to protest the killing of the Ogene musician.
Governor Peter Mbah has ordered an investigation into the killing.
Mbah took to his social media handle to offer condolences to the deceased’s family and assured the public that he had directed a full investigation into the matter.
