Akwa Ibom State’s Governor Umo Eno has dissolved his cabinet and sacked all commissioners.
Most of the commissioners Umo inherited from his predecessor, former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Speaking at a valedictory session held in the exco chamber on Friday, the Governor commended the outgoing commissioners, noting that none of them underperformed but that there was need to bring in new professionals to advance the state’s governance.
“For me, if you were to be changed based on non-performance, I think none of the commissioners would go. All of you have delivered and that’s why the Arise Agenda has succeeded. But we must come to the end of a season, start another season, and keep moving,” Eno said.
A valedictory dinner in honor of the outgoing cabinet members later held on Friday evening at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo.
