Renowned Billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died today June 28, 2025 at Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Born 19th May 1931, Dantata was 94 years old.

He was a granduncle to Nigerian Billionaire, Aliko Dangote.

News of his death was announced by his Personal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid, who wrote in a heartfelt message: “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.

“It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.

“The Janazah details will be shared later insha Allah.”

He was a Nigerian businessman and philanthropist who was one of the promoters of Kano State Foundation, an endowment fund that supported educational initiatives and provided grants to small-scale entrepreneurs in Kano

Until his death, he also was the head of a group of companies that managed his real estate and other business ventures.

He served as a Member of the Northern House of Assembly from Kano from 1960 to 1966.

Thereafter, he was newly-created Kano State’s Commissioner for Planning and Development 1967 to 1972.
