As we mark the unfortunate anniversary of one of the darkest days in Nigerian living memory, we must endeavour to REMEMBER properly the circumstances of the bloody massacre of over 100 young Nigerians, and the roles played by people who strut the corridors of power today, as if they are untouchable.
The main killings happened at the #LekkiTollGate, a facility linked directly to the current occupant of the highest seat of power in Nigeria,
@officialABAT.
Things happened on the day which clearly point at the involvement of the operators of that facility and infrastructure around it.
The CCTV cameras were removed earlier in the day, by a man who is yet to be identified, and whose picture is below.
The giant electronic advertising billboards at the facility were switched off, just prior to the mass shooting. They had never been switched off before that day! The company that owned and operated those billboards was owned by Seyi Tinubu, son of President
@officialABAT and Sunday Dare, one of his close aides.
After the initial shooting, several survivors alleged that @jidesanwoolu turned up at the scene in the company of phalanx of armed policemen, who allegedly shot injured survivors to death and tried to hunt those who escaped into the lagoon.
In the days following, Nigerians were treated to farcical scenes of a serving minister,
@tundefashola, miraculously discovering a “camera” at the scene l, which narrative was destroyed by the accompanying public outrage, which, inexplicably, the powers that be did not expect.
Let us not forget that it was during this unrest that the court trying the matter of the ownership of AlphaBeta was conveniently burnt down by “protesters”.
It was also during this tumultuous period that the insidious campaign against Igbos by supporters of the ruling @OfficialAPCNg truly began to take shape.
