The Aare Atunluse of Awori Kingdom and the Chairman, Mapcotec Nigeria Limited, Aare (Surveyor) Dr.Segun Osifeso, has described the late former Chairman, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Asiwaju Ayodeji Otegbola, as a rare gem whose life was a blessing and memory a treasure.
Aare Osifeso, who made these remarks at Ota, Ogun State on Tuesday during a chat with newsmen on the passing of the late Asiwaju of Awori Kingdom, noted that the late Chief Otegbola was not only a renowned philanthropist who was committed to humanity, but was also a model of compassion, generosity, humility and Intergrity.
He stressed that Chief Otegbola’s legacy was really the lives he touched and the inspiration he gave as he spent his life helping others.
Aare Osifeso, who described the late Chief Otegbola as a leader per excellence and a man of immense wisdom, stressed that he, no doubt, made a lasting impact in the building industry, politics and business and successfully grew to have not only proved himself as one of the most celebrated first class Estate Surveyors across the globe, but also distinguished himself in the nation’s political landscape
He explained that apart from being a well – known political figure who rose to become a Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the aborted third Republic, the late Chief Otegbola was a successful player in the building industry as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, as well as an accredited member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors of England and Wales, adding that many players in the industry today learnt one or two things from him.
The Mapcotec boss, however, said that as the nation mourned Chief Otegbola’s passing, Nigerians also celebrated his life and legacy as his dedication to both the public and private sectors of the nation’s economy have left an indelible mark in the people’s hearts and in the annals of the nation’s history.
Aare Osifeso, who recalled that that the late Chief Otegbola gave him so much to remember right from when they were growing up at Ibadan and during their later stage in life when he gave him professional advice and counselling, expressed his appreciation to God for knowing him and also beeing a brother.
” Nigerians will surely miss Asiwaju Ayodeji Otegbola whose journey from humble beginnings to becoming a distinguished Estate Surveyor and top politician was truly inspiring. It is indisputable that his contributions to nation building and remarkable achievements were invaluable and his passion for the develoment of the Nigerian society was evident to all asundry.
While seeing the loss of Chief Otegbola as a sad loss, Aare Osifeso urged the family and friends of the late ace politician to be comforef and take solace in the fact that he lived a purposeful life, more so that he would be remembered for his sacrifices and services to Ogun State and the nation in general
