On TV today, they were pushing a rhetoric, but this is what their thugs and enforcers do to journalists and everyday Lagosians. During campaigns, our supporters experienced so much violence from these thugs they have empowered.
In this Agberocracy, you can’t turn on a camera anywhere in Lagos without being harassed. You can’t move your belongings from one neighbourhood to another without settling thugs. When your car breaks down anywhere in Lagos, you’re immediately swarmed by thugs. Bus drivers, keke napep, Korope all of them have to deal with this agberocracy.
This is what they have turned Lagos to – creating an army of unemployed young men who make no contribution to the economy and, more often than not, are dealing with a drug problem. This Agberocracy has destroyed the future of so many young men to secure and advance the political interest of the few.
Our youth deserve better, A new Lagos is possible.
