The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, to its headquarters in Abuja.

An official invitation by the commission has already been sent to her, sources said.

The invitation came shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced Edu’s suspension from office through a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The commission was reportedly investigating an alleged payment into a private account of a N585 million grant for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun and Lagos states.
