A friend of the late Musician Mohbad,. simply identified as Damola, has countered the singer’s father, Joseph Aloba’s claim on the deceased’s marital status with his reputed wife, Wunmi.
Mr. Aloba claimed that his son Mohbad and Wunmi never had a traditional wedding.
The Nigerian Musician died controversially in Lagos on September 12, aged 27.
Damola spoke in response to a video of Mr Aloba saying that Wunmi and Mohbad had an introduction ceremony and not a traditional wedding.
In the video, Mr Aloba claimed he was cornered into attending the introduction as he had no prior knowledge of it.
He said while paying a routine visit to his son on that day, he was handed a sewn cloth and asked to participate in the introduction ceremony.
He complained that as the family head, he was supposed to be in attendance at a traditional wedding and that that was not the case with the ceremony Wunmi and Mohbad had.
Aloba claimed that Mohbad had told him that he would marry the then pregnant Wunmi after she delivered, only for the music star to backtrack on that move because the lady cheated on her fiance.
The elder Aloba insisted the cheating allegation was the reason he had been insisting a DNA test must be carried out on Liam, Wunmi’s son.
However, countering Aloba’s claim, one of Mohbad’s friends, Damola, has released videos from the said traditional wedding dated January 29, 2023.
Damola also released a video of him and others serving as Mohbad’s groomsmen at the occasion.
Another scene in the video showed them holding bundles of naira notes they sprayed at the ceremony.
