The five Nigerian artistes nominated in different categories for the 66th Grammy Awards left the awards empty handed.

Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide were all nominated, but none finally won any award during the ceremony on Sunday, February 4.

Burna Boy got four nominations, Davido got three nominations, Asake, Arya Starr, and Olamide got one nomination each.

South African singer, Tyla, won the award for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.

She beat Davido, Asake, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr to clinch the award.

David Adeleke, better known as Davido, lost all three categories he was nominated for.

Davido’s song ‘Feel’ was nominated for the Best Global Music Performance category, ‘ Timeless’ was nominated for the Album of the Year category, and his song ‘Unavailable’ was nominated for Best African Music Performance.

Shortly before the award ceremony started, Davido, in an interview with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly at the Pre-Grammy show, said he would go crazy celebrating if he wins the award for the Best African Music Performance category.
