Nine people were rescued from the rubble of a collapsed four-storey building in Lagos.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) stormed the scene for search and rescue operations.
The building, located at Iga Idungaran, near the palace of the Oba of Lagos on Lagos Island, collapsed on Thursday.
Giving an update on the incident, Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos commissioner for information and strategy, via his X account, announced that 10 people were trapped in the rubble and nine have been rescued.
According to Omotoso, those rescued were taken to the Iga Iduganran primary health centre.
“Ten people were affected by the collapse. Nine have been rescued. One person remains trapped in the rubble. The survivors are receiving care at the Iga Iduganran primary health centre,” the commissioner wrote.
