The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has kicked out several senior staff members in an ongoing major shakeup in the country’s oil agency.

The shakeup is coming four weeks after Bayo Ojulari was appointed on April 2, 2025 in place of Mele Kyari as the new Group CEO.

Kyari had been at the helm of the national oil company since 2019.

The new management has terminated the appointment of managing directors of the three refineries.

The refineries include the Port Harcourt Refining Company, Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company, and the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company.

The new management also sacked several officials with one year to retirement dates.

Ojulari, the new NNPC Limited Group CEO, hails from Kwara State.
