Considering the clientele base, she has been able to garner over time, with many of her patrons providing different, yet unique challenges to her in her day-to day work life.
For her, the last few years have come with its numerous ups and downs which she says have further honed her skills in the profession. This has enabled her steadily make her way to the top as a first rate make-up artiste in the country.
Though starting off as a mere passion, Chima’s dexterity and creative approach soon earned for her more clients to the point of becoming the preferred choice for models, creative performers, presenters and others appearing in front of the camera for a large audience.
Many television stations, publications and social media content creators have come to rely on her to deliver on cutting edge make up artistry tailored towards the corporate needs in terms of staff appearance on set. Working very closely with all her clients, her briefs to tune up appearances according to preferred themes have been resoundingly successful.
Looking back, Ms. Chima who stated that though, she has achieved remarkable successes, she, nonetheless, is aiming for the sky. She hopes to take her craft to the zenith, even beyond Nigeria, to be a big figure in the global arena.
“Lately, I have had a mix bag of progress and challenges of some sorts. In terms of accomplishments, I have progressed from a mere neighbourhood corner-shop make-up service provider to a national brand whose services are sought after by all categories of people.
“I have also mastered the techniques of managing the needs and expectations of my different clients which vary considerably from one person to the other. Consistent too, I have had to adapt so well by making sure that I work around these varying demands.
“It’s been tasking considering the fact that I have to try out many techniques and innovative means of meeting up with their needs,” Chima stated.
So far, in the last couple of years, she has worked on a variety of settings including photographic shoots for magazines and newspapers film television.
Not resting on her oars, she has been researching on hair, makeup and clothing styles of specific time periods, particularly the golden era of elegance, pre-Nigerian Independence, and, or to evoke specified atmosphere for her numerous clients.
Also she works on sketches jointly with clients; collect photos to show designs. Often times her work revolves around making prosthetic devices to be used to change the appearance of performers.
