A 400-level student of Kwararafa University, simply identified as Ella, has been reportedly killed by men of the Nigeria Police in Benue State.
Ella met her tragic end after officers of the Nigeria Police Force allegedly opened fire on a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation at Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, Benue State.
According to Human Rights Activist, Ukan Kurugh, the victim was in the vehicle when officers attached to the Makurdi E Division discharged their weapons, with a bullet fatally striking her.
Kurugh described the killing as “another unacceptable loss of innocent life” and demanded justice for the slain student.
