Portable, the controversial singer, has launched an attack on celebrity bartender Cubana Chief Priest, dismissing his recent political warning to President Bola Tinubu as a “joke”.
Cubana Chief Priest fired the first shot on Thursday when he said that the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), would cripple Tinubu’s political prospects in the south-east.
Kanu was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday after he was convicted on seven counts of terrorism by a court, a verdict that has ignited significant reactions.
In a social media post on Friday, the socialite argued that the president “will never get up to 10,000 votes” in the region during the 2027 election.
Reacting to Cubana’s claim in a now-viral video, Portable slammed the socialite for his “hypocrisy”.
He accused Cubana of using his access to the president to seek “personal gain and contracts” instead of advocating for Kanu’s release.
“When you went to President Bola Tinubu’s office, you went to fight for your own self-interest. You didn’t remember to ask him to release your brother, Nnamdi Kanu,” he said.
He dismissed Cubana’s electoral prediction, insisting that the south-east would support Tinubu if adequately incentivised financially.
“You fought for what you wanted first, and now you are saying Tinubu won’t get votes from the South East? You’re joking. They will use money to get votes from your people, and your people will take the money,” he said.
“You went to take pictures with the president, collected money, but forgot your brother who was in jail. Did you collect money and a contract or not? Who told you he won’t get votes? Tinubu will be reelected.”
