Calls team Cockroach eagles, as he warns Osimhen on behaviour
Founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Nigeria, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has urged the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to sack the Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Chelle and goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali.
Primate Ayodele who also warned Victor Osihme to work on his character, made the disclosure during the Annual Youth Programme of the Church in Lagos, on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
He expressed worry over the lackluster performances of the super eagles since the inception of the world cup qualifiers.
He said the team is no longer super but cockroach eagles.
He expressed fears that the super eagles even if they make it to the world cup they may disgrace the country because they have only shown lackluster approach to their games and they are not hungry for goals.
Primate Ayodele made it clear to the team that it would be better they don’t play the game against Benin Republic rather than losing the match or worse still allow the visiting team to score even a goal.
He warned the team to do their best to make the best out of the situation and win the match otherwise the people would stone them, adding that what is he saying is what the Lord wanted him to say.
Primate Ayodele said, “We have Cockroach Eagles, this eagles can disgrace Nigeria.
“I am afraid if this eagles gets to the world cup.
“How can they win Benin 2:0, they should suspend these eagles, all of them, these are not super eagles, they are amateurs.
“They are cockroach eagles, first they should sack the goalkeeper and sack the coach, because the coach is just doing like mumu, and Nwabali will kill Nigeria, I have said it, Nwabali should not play in this match.
“If you want to win Benin Republic, there are a lot of work you need to do.
“This team, they are not serious, they are not hungry for goal and they are not playing as if Nigeria wants to go to world cup.
“If you mess up in Uyo, they will just stone all of you ooo. I am just telling you before hand, it is better you don’t play this match at all, it is better you tell them that you don’t want to play, if you play and they score you one gaol in Uyo, what will happen in Uyo, you won’t like it.
“This is what I see and this is what I am saying. There is nothing wrong if the eagles give Benin Republic 3:0, but we don’t have the capacity to give Benin Republic 3:0, we don’t have it.
“Nobody wants to say all these but that is why I am saying them.
“God is interested in everything, so let Super Eagles watch all this so that we are not going to fall. Our going to world cup is shaky, we need to go to world cup, but can these players do it, can these boys be able to do make Nigeria proud?
“Then my warning to Osimhen, stop this your Osihme thing. I am telling you
“You did well, but people like Messi are not behaving the way you behave, you are too temperamental, this will make you not to be a super star, it makes you look like a tug.
“Why, Everytime fight? You are trying to dent Nigeria’s image, everytime Osimhen,” he said.
