Yoruba nation Activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho, on Monday, visited the Olubadan of Ibadanland, HRM Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, to express gratitude following his reported removal from the Federal Government’s wanted list.

Igboho, who was accompanied by his supporters, was received at the Olubadan’s residence in Bodija, Ibadan.

The visit came shortly after reports that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration had cleared his name, enabling his return to Nigeria after spending years in exile.

His spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, had earlier announced that Igboho’s return was facilitated by the intervention of notable Yoruba monarchs, who appealed to the Federal Government on his behalf.

Those said to have intervened included Oba Rashidi Ladoja; the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Arole Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; and the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, HRM Oba Francis Alao.

Speaking during the visit, Igboho expressed appreciation to Oba Ladoja, noting that he never anticipated that the monarch would play such a crucial role in resolving his ordeal.

“I thank God for knowing the Olubadan. I am happy to be here today because I did not know that he would be one of those who would help me out of this challenge,” he said.

Igboho added that Yoruba people across the globe were pleased with his freedom and safe return to the country.

In his response, Oba Ladoja urged Igboho to remain hopeful and steadfast, stressing that life itself offers renewed hope.

The monarch also offered prayers for Igboho and his family.
