The Sunny Ade Organisation has responded to claims that the ace Juju Musician, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, had been kidnapped and whisked away to an unknown destination by certain people.

“It’s not true. Sunny Ade is safe,” Mr. Charles Ogundipe, Group Managing Director of the King Sunny Ade Group told TheNewsGiant today Monday.

According to Ogundipe, who has worked with the veteran musician for over 20 years, people made tons of phone calls on Monday after one of the entertainer’s daughters raised the alarm that her Dad had gone missing.

Ogundipe said: “That’s nowhere near the truth. We are in touch with Sunny Ade and he is very safe, going about his business and his schedules as usual.

“KSA is very safe, fit and has not been under any pressure or abduction in his entire life. And may he never suffer such a fate in Jesus mighty name. Amen!”

Shedding light on the 78-year-old’s recent itinerary, Ogundipe said Sunny Ade played two Saturdays ago in Ijebu Ososa area of Ogun State.

Last Saturday, April 26, the Juju king took the stand to play a gig somewhere in Lekki area of Lagos State, the GMD explained.

However, Ogundipe would not give details of the Ondo-born musician’s whereabouts to prevent an influx of well-wishers who might want to personally verify his safety.

Some sections of the social media went agog today Monday reporting that the legendary Juju musician had been declared missing by his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye.

However, Ogundipe debunked all those insinuating King Sunny Ade had been kidnapped or abducted and was being kept against his freewill.

“All such stories originated from a warped and evil imagination from the pit of hell,” the GMD said. “Sunny Ade is safe and there is absolutely no cause for alarm.”

In a series of posts, Damilola had alleged that King Sunny Ade had been kidnapped by her stepbrother and Manager, Dayo, along with other family members.

She also detailed the singer’s declining health and accused his alleged abductors of exploiting him financially.

On April 28, 2025, media personality @Akanbitheduke took to Instagram to amplify Damilola’s pleas, explaining in a lengthy post that he had personally attempted to contact the 78-year-old music icon before a friend reached out to him on the daughter’s behalf.

According to Akanbi, efforts by King Sunny Ade’s close associates to reach him had repeatedly failed.

Furthermore, Damilola alleged that those who reportedly abducted him had been forcing the music icon to sign up for multiple performances at which he failed to turn up.

She claimed that the same individuals controlled King Sunny Ade’s finances to the detriment of his biological children.

Akanbi wrote in part: “What further created serious worry for Damilola, according to her, was that the last time she spoke to KSA, he sounded distressed, and the phone was quickly taken away from him. Ever since, he has not been reachable. Although Damilola had since embarked on a personal rigorous campaign for her father, it seemed like her voice had been drowned by the fact that no one reckoned with her.”
