On 21st October, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State came together for a strategic stakeholders meeting.
All past governors, past and present State House of Assembly members, Senators and House Of Reps Members, leaders of the party at various levels were all in attendance at Eko Hotel.
All thanks must go to Governor Sanwo-Olu and Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi Lagos State Chairman of APC for the bold initiative for public officials to give accounts of the Renewed Hope Programmes of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The Chairman of The Progressives Group, Hon. Wusu Shakiru Ajiyon and his executive team members were fully present at the epoch-making event.
The key highlights of the meeting included the following amongst others:
(A) The endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second-term in the 2027 general elections
(B) Dissemination of information of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements and commitment to progressive governance and nation building on its Renewed Hope Agenda
(C) Encouragement on voters registration drive. The stakeholders emphasised the importance of voters registration by announcing cash rewards for top performing various local and grassroots structures: 1 million naira for the polling unit, 5 million for the ward and 20 million naira for the LGA with the highest registration
(D) Massive mobilisation of support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid come 2027
A statement, signed by the Chairman Hon. Wusu Shakiru Ajiyon, and the Publicity Secretary, Prince Adewale Samson, of The Progressives Group respectively, expressed the group’s joy that knows no bounds for the organisation of the stakeholders meeting that wouldn’t have come at a better time than now.
The group stated that the sustainability of the stakeholders meeting should be established for review of the progresses, successes, shortcomings and challenges with clear goals of proffering strategic solutions for improvement.
The group also identifies with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Themes Plus Agenda and promises to continue support for the Governor to finish well in the remaining two years, that Lagos State stands tall today because of unity, courage, and foresight. It is a living testimony that progress is possible when vision meets action.
The group also said that what was witnessed at Eko Hotel is more than a political gathering—it is the convergence of hope, strategy, and continuity. It is a reminder that when leaders listen, engage, and act with purpose, citizens begin to dream again for a better future.
The Progressives Group also promised to partner with the leadership of the All progressives Congress (APC) on grassroots sensitization of the party’s election programs, massive mobilisation of grassroots support for the next Governor of Lagos State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
We are ready and committed to the progress and advancement of our dear state and to proffer solutions to our challenges and policies to our leaders, and then use our experiences gathered over the years for a better and prosperous Lagos State.
