President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, the son of Nigerian Military Dictator General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, as Chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.
The Military General annulled the June 12, 1993 presidential election won by Bashorun MKO Abiola, and Tinubu, as a Senator, joined others in NADECO to fight the travesty, ultimately leading to the exile of the legislator and the detention and death of the winner.
The President approved the appointment on Friday, along with eight others, according to Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Some of the appointees will serve as Chairmen or directors-general of Federal agencies.
Muhammad Babangida, 53, is an alumnus of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Business Communication.
He later attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Program on Corporate Governance in 2002.
