President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved provisional licences for 11 private Universities in Nigeria.
Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication and Spokesperson to the President, Sunday Dare, broke the news in a tweet on Monday.
According to him, the private universities were approved at Monday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
He said the approval showed that “President Tinubu is committed to expanding the frontiers of Educational opportunities and infrastructure.”
One of the approved schools, Fortune University, is owned by Billionaire Businessman, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
He represents Ondo State in the Senate.
Since 2020, Ibrahim has been working on the physical infrastructure of the university reportedly established on 150 hectares land space.

- University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State
- Eranova University, Mabushi
- Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun Annex
5, Abubakar Toyin University, oke-Agba, Kwara State
6, Southern Atlantic University Uyo, Akwa Ibom State
7, Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State
- Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State
- Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City
- Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos
- Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State
