Exactly one week after returning from a 10-day trip to Japan and Brazil, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja today, September 4, to commence a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave.
It would be his second visit to Brazil where he, on 6th July 2025, attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
At the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, today, the Nigerian leader was seen off by Secretary to the Governor of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma, Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu and others.
The vacation will last 10 working days, according to Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who announced the trip via a statement on Thursday.
Tinubu will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country.
On his previous trip, Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20 in Japan.
Following the conclusion of TICAD 9, he departed Yokohama for a stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to Brazil, where he met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and senior Brazilian officials.
