In the wake of the controversy pitching him against the former National Coach George Finidi, Napoli and Nigerian football striker Victor Osimhen at the weekend took his prestigious CAF Award to his former Olusosun Primary School in Ojota area of Lagos.
The visit comes after his online ranting and attack on the former Super Eagles Coach, Finidi George.
Osimhen won the CAF 2023 Men’s Player of the Year award in December 2023.
He followed in the tracks of Nwankwo Kanu, who won the title in 1999.
His recent visit to the school was disclosed on by a photojournalist, Sulaiman Adebayo, popularly called Pooja.
The caption read, “Victor Osimhen takes his CAF Award to Olusosun Primary School, Ojota, where it all started with street coaches and friends.”
Osimhen’s CAF Award win in December 2023 marked a historic moment for Nigerian football, ending a 24-year wait for the country to produce a winner in the men’s category.
