Niger State’s Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba has lost his wife, Hajiya Zainab Garba.
She died on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2024.
The Personal Assistant to the Deputy Governor, Salis Sabo, confirmed the death in a post on his Facebook page.
“Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un!!! We just lost the wife of our principal, His Excellency the deputy governor of Niger State. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdausi”, he wrote.
Commiserating over the death, Niger State’s Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago expressed sorrow.
In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor described the death as a great loss to the State.
He said it was indeed devastating news and a trying moment not only for his Deputy but the government and the entire people of the State.
The Governor encouraged the bereaved husband to see the demise of his wife as an act of Allah, and be consoled by the fact that the deceased lived a good life.
He said the State Executive Council share in his loss and will provide every needed support at this moment of grief.
The Governor prayed to Allah to forgive all the shortcomings of the deceased and grant her Aljanna Firdausi.
He also prayed that Allah would comfort his Deputy and all Niger citizens.
