The Police Command in Ondo State has confirmed the death of an 86-year-old woman, set on fire by her daughter in Ondo City.
Popularly called Iya Biodun, the octogenarian died at the trauma centre of the School of Medical Sciences Ondo, where she was rushed to for treatment.
The suspect, Abiodun, 45, said she took the step after a Pastor told her that her old mother was responsible for her life’s predicament.
The incident occurred at Surulere, opposite the Anglican Cathedral Church in Ondo West Local Government Area on Friday.
The spokesperson of the command, Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect would be charged in court as soon as possible.
